The Harbour Bridge Bungy launched in 2003 and turned a morning commute backdrop into one of the world's great urban adrenaline experiences. Today two Auckland sites offer five experiences for every kind of thrill-seeker: the Bridge Bungy sits beneath the Harbour Bridge, the Bridge Climb takes you up and over it, and Auckland's iconic Sky Tower is home to SkyRide, SkyJump and SkyWalk - taking you up, around and off 192 metres.

One iconic location, two legendary venues. Everything at the Harbour Bridge - the Bridge Bungy and Bridge Climb - is accessed from the AJ Hackett base at Westhaven, just minutes from the CBD. The Sky Tower experiences - SkyJump, SkyWalk and SkyRide - are accessed via the Sky Tower on Victoria Street in the heart of the city. Both venues are easily combined in a single day.

Auckland has five experiences across two venues. At the Harbour Bridge: Bridge Bungy (40m jump off the bridge) and Bridge Climb (guided experience under, up, and over the bridge). At Sky Tower: SkyJump (wire-guided descent from 192m), SkyWalk (open-air walk around the outside of the tower at 192m), and SkyRide (lift and drop ride around the outside of the tower, launched June 2026).
SkyRide is Auckland's newest experience, launched in June 2026 at Sky Tower. It's a lift and drop ride that raises you 192 metres from the ground, before releasing you at speeds up to 100kph with sweeping 360-degree views of the Waitematā Harbour, Hauraki Gulf and the Auckland skyline. It's the only ride of its kind and can be completed tandem for friends and family who want to experiences something together.
The Auckland Harbour Bridge Bungy is a 40 metre jump from beneath the bridge over the Waitematā Harbour.
SkyJump is a wire-guided base-style descent from the Sky Tower ledge at 192 metres - you are dropped attached to a wire at speed that can go over 100kph before slowing to a landing in the plaza below. SkyWalk is a guided walk around the open-air rim of the Sky Tower at the same height. SkyJump is for those who want the drop; SkyWalk is for those who want to stand on the edge and take in the view. Discounted combos are available.

Yes. Book two AJ Hackett activities nationwide (excluding the Zipride) and you receive $50 off per activity; book three or more and you receive $70 off per activity. Combining Bridge Bungy and SkyRide, or SkyWalk and Bridge Climb, is a popular way to maximise the day across both venues.
Booking at least 48 hours ahead is strongly recommended to secure your preferred date and time. Booking direct gives instant confirmation, and photos, videos and an activity tee are included with all Auckland activities.
AJ Hackett operates in most conditions, including rain. If weather exceeds operational limits and your activity can't run, you'll be offered a transfer, reschedule or refund. Wind is the most common factor affecting Auckland experiences; the crew monitor conditions continuously.
Travelling to Auckland
Flying into Auckland Airport
Auckland Airport (AKL) is New Zealand's main international gateway, located at Māngere, roughly 25 kilometres south of the city centre. It handles direct long-haul flights from Australia, Asia, the Pacific, North America and the United Kingdom, as well as domestic connections from Queenstown, Wellington, Christchurch and other centres.
From the airport, the Harbour Bridge Bungy base at Westhaven is approximately 30 to 35 minutes by car or taxi without traffic. The Sky Tower is in the central city, also around 30 to 35 minutes from the airport. SkyBus services run frequently between the airport and the CBD. Rental cars, rideshare and taxis are all available at the terminal.
Driving to Auckland
From within the North Island
Auckland is well connected by road. Approximate drive times from key centres: Hamilton around 1.5 hours via SH1, Tauranga around 2.5 hours, Rotorua around 2.5 to 3 hours, Taupo around 3.5 hours, and Wellington around 8 hours via SH1 through the Waikato and Manawatū. The Harbour Bridge is a landmark on the northern motorway and the Sky Tower is visible from much of the central city approach.
From the South Island
Travellers from the South Island can fly into Auckland directly or take the Interislander or Bluebridge ferry from Picton to Wellington, then drive north. Day Trips from Auckland
Auckland is a great base for exploring the wider Northland and Waikato regions. A few favourites within easy reach:
Waiheke Island
A 35-minute ferry from the CBD, Waiheke is known for boutique wineries, olive groves and beautiful beaches. Hire a bike or take a wine tour, and time a visit for a long lunch at one of the island's renowned restaurants.
Coromandel Peninsula
Around 2 hours' drive southeast of Auckland, the Coromandel offers dramatic coastal scenery, native bush walks and the famous Cathedral Cove. Hot Water Beach - where you can dig your own thermal pool in the sand at low tide - is a perennial highlight.
Northland and the Bay of Islands
Head north on SH1 and you're in Northland within two hours. The Bay of Islands, around 3.5 hours from Auckland, is one of New Zealand's most beautiful coastal regions - sailing, dolphin watching and the historic town of Russell are the draws.
Hobbiton, Matamata
Around 2 hours south of Auckland near Matamata in the Waikato, the Hobbiton Movie Set is one of New Zealand's most visited attractions. Pre-booking is essential. Combine with a visit to Hamilton Gardens on the way back.
Raglan
New Zealand's most famous surf town sits around 1.5 hours southwest of Auckland. Even if you're not surfing, the black-sand beach, pohutukawa-lined harbour and relaxed café scene make it an easy and rewarding half-day escape.
