Experience the Nevis Playground with your feet on the ground. Hop on our Bungy Bus for a 40 minute scenic drive all the way to the Nevis Playground. When you hear the screams you’ll know you’ve arrived. The Nevis Playground is home to the World Famous Nevis Swing, the World’s First Human Catapult, and Australasia’s Highest Bungy. You’ll get up close and personal with it all – so much so, you might just decide to give it a go (no pressure)! At $50 per person (and FREE for kids up to 10 years old) it’s a hell of a day out for the price of your airport taxi.
You can’t drive to this one, but it’s much more exciting to take our 4WD bus along the narrow gravel track anyway.
The Bungy Bus departs from the Queenstown Bungy Centre, at the corner of Shotover Street and Camp Street. Trips times vary throughout the year, so please see our booking page to check the latest availability.
Please ensure you check-in 30mins prior to your bus departing.

ExperienceExperience all the thrill without the fear. You’ll be able to walk out to the Catapult & Swing pod 70m over the Nevis Valley and be right amongst the action! Take a ride out to the Nevis Bungy pod and get a dose of adrenaline as you watch people live more & fear less as they take on Australasia’s highest Bungy Jump at 134m. Even if you have a fear of heights, there are viewing decks located by the main building which overlook it all so you can still take in all the action – from a distance.
DurationYour experience will take about 4 hours round-trip.
RestrictionsSpectators need to be at least 5 years old (or fit into a Bungy harness) to travel to the Bungy pod to meet our safety guidelines. If you’re unsure, live chat with us now and we’ll help you out. Spectators are required to wear close-toed, lace-up shoes so leave the jandals at home.
LocationThe Nevis Playground is located at a remote site about 40 minutes drive from Queenstown, in the heart of beautiful Central Otago. It’s great for all ages – including families. Chill out on the bean bags, enjoy the music, and play some outdoor games in between viewing. We have a small selection of retail offerings available as well as bathroom facilities.
The site is also fully accessible for spectators, with wheelchairs able to be facilitated on both pods. We may need to use our own slim-line wheelchair rather than your own, but we can talk through that at the time of booking.
- We don’t photograph the spectator experience so we highly recommend bringing a phone, camera, or GoPro with you. Keep in mind, bringing these items with you is at your own risk. You may decide to travel out to the Bungy, Swing & Catapult pods, so it’s a good idea to have your device attached to your wrist.
SAFE?For getting up close to the action, Bungy spectators get to enjoy the thrill of our custom engineered shuttle ride, that sweeps you from solid ground and onto our Bungy pod. As safety is our number one priority, spectators will be securely fitted with a full body harness, in order to remain safe & comfortable at all times.
Spend the day with us and you'll never be the same! Read what these legends had to say about their experience.
It's the best experience I've had in my entire life. The staff is really well prepared and trained, and they are super fun and encouraging. They know they are doing a difficult job and they do it really well. The support from the Crew really adds to the experience.
My wife and I loved the experience - smooth check in process, banger tunes playing the whole time, friendly hosts, and of course an awesome experience. Nice surprise souvenir at the end, too!
I loved every second, the staff were very friendly and I felt 100% safe in their hands the whole time.
Really great, positive and encouraging energy and support from the team at the Nevis Playground. They were amazing in getting us excited and made sure we felt comfortable all day. They really encouraged us when we needed it and celebrated our accomplishments with us! We had an amazing time!
The staff are so friendly. The feeling of the bungy and swing is super awesome. It is a must do in Queenstown!
So much fun from the start of the morning until the very end! Well managed, professional and friendly bunch of people who genuinely care about your experience. Every time I asked "are you sure I can't fall out of this harness?" they answered me politely and reassuringly so I was able to put that fear aside and thoroughly enjoy my jump! Will jump again next time we are in Queenstown.
