Kawarau Bungy Centre Phase One Upgrades Complete
Queenstown, New Zealand – 22 December 2011 – AJ Hackett Bungy is excited to announce the completion of Stage One in the Kawarau Bungy Centre Upgrade. The changes to date include removal of The Bungy Dome (movie theatre) from the centre of the building and installation of a new 7m by 3 m stage, which features a 16 screen video wall above it.
The removal of the Dome has doubled the usable floor space resulting in 320 square metres of open space, making the Kawarau Bungy Centre the ideal venue for any event. It now has the capacity to hold 800+ (standing), with facilities for live bands, large scale presentations, cocktail functions, parties (large or small), conference events and team building exercises.
These upgrades prove AJ Hackett Bungy’s commitment to innovation and improvement. The Kawarau Bungy Centre continues to be a ‘must do’ in the itinerary for any New Zealand visitor. Over 350,000 people visit this iconic attraction annually and now each of them will have the opportunity to watch the new and improved Bungy Movie on the big screen, which tells the Bungy Story. The completion of stage one also prepares AJ Hackett Bungy for the launch of a new product in 2012, the Kawarau Zipride.
Bungy co-founder Henry van Asch says, “It’s an exciting time at the World Home of Bungy and I’d like to invite everyone to come out and see the changes for themselves. I’m sure the Queenstown community will be as happy as I am with what we’re doing out here for our valued visitors.”
